My computer keeps dumping memory and says it is nortons fault. Anyone
have/know of any issues with Norton and Vista. Norton has very little on
their site right now about it.

Thanks
Chuck

Norton is an issue, period. You'll find a few in this group or even on a
Google search who haven't had problems with it but you'll find problem after
problem with in this group as well as on a Google search. If you are having
issues with it, the best thing you can do is using the uninstall tool at
Symantec's website to remove it. Be sure to use that tool as the product
uninstaller doesn't get rid of everything and you may continue to have
issues as a result.

Chuck,

If you want to do a complete uninstall of your Norton Product you must do
many things to make sure it is entirely off your system.

Go to Norton/Symantec's website and download the "Norton Removal Tool".
Symantec will tell you that it will remove all remnants of the software but
it will not. After running the "Norton Removal Tool" you must go to your
Program files and delete the Symantec Folder. You must then go to the "Run"
command and enter "services.msc" and then click OK. Delete the Symantec entry
there.

You are not done yet: You must then go to the Run command and enter
"regedit". Click OK. Once in the registry you must click on Edit. Then click
on Find. Make sure keys, value and data have a checkmark in the boxes. Enter
Symantec in the box and hit enter. Delete the entry it finds. Clcik on Find
Next and delete the next Symantec entry. You must click on Find Next until
all the Symantec entries are deleted. You must then repeat this process by
entering Norton in the box and click enter. Once you have deleted this Norton
entry click on Find Next until all the entries are gone. Believe me, you will
find an abundance of Norton and Symantec entries to delete.

Have a nice day.

Remove Norton from your computer an install AVAST. It is free, works well
and has a small footprint on your computer. You will be much happier.
