Vista Media Centre cannot find any video files

Have setup Vista Media Centre but it does not show any of my videos other
then the microsoft supplied sample videos. I have many avi files etc which
it does show.

I have monitored/added my c: drive in the Library options in the settings,
but it always comes back with 0 files discovered after scanning the complete
c drive.

I can play these file with WMP in Vista.

Can anyone help
 
AVI files are not in the Media Center format and you have to select them
manually. Go to Pictures & Videos, browse to the folder that contains the
videos and select the one you want and it will play in Media Center.
