Vista Media Center Is a pain. Any body know how to make it work?

I somewhat like Media Center on Vista, but they have not updated that
live365.com IS NOT part of the main program anymore, just the stupid
XM Demo. The windows site says I have to install a program for media
center, but does not tell me where to find said program. The
live365.com site tells me to go through some convoluted process, and
click on stuff that isn't even THERE. AUGH WHY???!!!
