Vista log in

I have a problem with my vista login.
The startup windows appears, but the field for the password is bright white.
I can not click on it or type my password in. trying to simply typing the
password and press ENTER results in an error message, saying that the
password is wrong. Lso no big black dots appear in the paassword field while
typing.
The rest of the surface is working OK, I can click on everything else. I
assume that the problem is only the password field.
Starting the computer with a different resolution (by strating in Safe Mode(
but its the same result.
Since I run a RC1 version of Vista I was thinking that this version might
run out. But in that case I would have expected at least a warning from Vista
that I have to upgrade or so.
Has somebody experienced something similar in the past and got it resolved,
or does somebody know how to solve it?

Thank you

Hi
I am having a pasword problem with Vista also Only my problem is that it
accepts the passwork I type but then it says the password is wrong. I answer
the question that shows up but it still will not let me in. Also, I just
transferred files from XP to vista. Did you do that also? I think we are on
our own. No help from Microsaft, just problems.

Well, if you both are using RC1, help will be not available.

On Vista Build 6000 I detected one issue that could prevent login: On slow
notebooks I got the effect, that keyboad input isn't detected for a long
time - after wating a few minutes, everything is ok.

One trick I used here is to enable the accessibility manager (don't know the
exact name, because I'm using the German edition here). But there is a
button on the lower left corner to enable that feature and then I use the
screen keyboard to enter my password.

Maybe it will help.

GBORN,

thanks for the answer. I tried that too, it didnt work. My problem was that
the keyboard was working. The ENTER key was working, just the field didnt
fill.

Anyway, I found a solution that works very well on for me: Tiered of all the
problems with my computer and VISTA, I bought a MACBOOK!! Works great!

rgds,
