i just buy a laptop with windows vista installed, the thing is that is in
german, there is any way to change it to english without formating the HD.

And not without an English version of Windows Vista.

I would complain to those who sold it to you - unless you knew you were
getting it with a German copy of Windows Vista...

No.You need to buy and do a clean installation of an English version.

If the Vista version is Ultimate, keep an eye out on the Windows Extras
portion of Windows Update for MUI packages. In the past these were not
readily available for consumer versions of Windows. Currently there are
several languages available for Vista Ultimate (English). Eventually Vista
Ultimate of other languages will have alternate MUI packs available too.
