vista internet access issue

Susanta

Recently I bought a IBM laptop which has vista operating system. I can
connect yahoo and hotmail messanger . But could not browse any website. I
think this is because my internet provider runs in old tcp ip protocols and
vista is using latest ipv4 and ipv6. Does anyone have any suggetion how to
fix this issue.

Thanks in advance.

It is hardly possible. ipv6 is primarily for network (I believe) not so much
for the Internet. It is hard to imagine an ISP without ipv4. It has been
around for as long as the TCP/IP.

Could be something with IE settings. Some people may have more knowledge in
that.

Make sure HTTP 1.1 protocol is checked in Internet Options.

You are wrong again, you idiot!

The world is running out of IP addresses. TCP/Ipv4 is 32bit, TCP/IPv6 ia
128bit.
TCP/IPv6 solves the problem by multiplying the number of addresses available.
Fridges, cars, iPdds, etc all need their own IP Addresses as everything
becomes computerised, and the demand will increase.

AlexB, you are a nuisance; and know NOTHING about computers!.
You had better get yourself a disclaimer for your advice!
I don't like germs like you that deliberately give WRONG advice here.
