Vista install fails due to Deskview

I am trying to upgrade my Windows XP to Vista Business but after a
lengthy process of checking compatibility the setup program claims I
have DeskView installed on my Fujitsu A7640 laptop and wants me to
uninstall it before installing Vista. I think I did have DeskView on the
computer a couple of years ago, but it was removed yet obviously some
traces of it are still there as the setup fails. I have removed all the
remnants of it that I found in the registry and in the file system but
the problem still remains. Is there a way to circumvent the problem as I
am confident that whatever may remain of DeskView would not cause any
harm in Vista?

Remnants of Deskview could very well interfere with the new and advanced
graphics capabilities of Vista.

Go to the Deskview web site and see if they have an advanced uninstaller,
such as those problem programs from Symantec and McAfee have.
