I am receiving the following error message and would like to know what can be
done to remedy the situation:

"Host Process for Windows Services stopped working and was closed."
"A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will
notify you if a solution is available."

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I'm getting the exact same error message on my Vista Home Premium system.
Anyone have any ideas as to what it is referring to or any way I can find out?

Thanks

Check Control Panel>Problem Reports and Solutions
Click Check for new solutions
After reports are sent, click View problem history
Right click on the problem and select View problem details

This should give you a hint as to what is causing the problem
There is also a Microsoft developer who is very adept at interpreting
fault bucket numbers and who frequents these newsgroups. Post the
message, especially the fault bucket number here, and he may be
able to help you.

You can also look in Event Viewer for errors.

I'm getting the same message, along with tons of others every few minutes.
They list various services that are not working. This just began last night
and I can't get any work done for clicking the cancel button to dismiss the
message. There is no solution given, and I can't even get to the services or
event viewer to diagnose the problem because those aren't working either.
Quite a few important services are not running. This happens in safe mode as
well. HELP!

I had this on a client's machine and it was related to the Roxio DLA
issue. See below for the fix:
