If you purchase a computer, Vista comes with it. It isn't free, you "paid"
for it in the system price.

Check the paperwork that came with your laptop for a Vista upgrade offer
(you did save all the paperwork, right?).
At least, find a copy of your purchase receipt, then *call* the laptop
manufacturer and get their support on the phone if you cannot find what you
need on their web site. Be aware that any free Vista upgrade offer is from
the laptop maker and *not* from Microsoft, so there is no guarantee that
your laptop maker made such an offer, or that it is still available if they
did.

It seems with your spelling you probably have a 3rd grade education. Vista
is Free. You can go into any electronics store, ask the manager for a Free
copy of Vista. Take it home and install it on your PC. You can even give
it to anyone you want.

Microsoft developed Vista free for people just like yourself.

Just FYI.

Hi,

Carey has given you the correct information, the free upgrade offers via
moduslink were time-limited. It was available during the brief period where
Vista had become available but was not yet preinstalled. If you have waited
this long to take advantage of it, you have waited too long.

I bought a Toshiba laptop around Christams last year and applied for the
free upgrade to Vista. It never came. Knowing that it is Toshiba's
repsonsibility, I called their customer service and they referred me to the
fulfillment house and claimed it is their reponsibility (the fulfillmnet
house's) and not Toshiba's to honor the offer. What nonsense, it's the last
Toshiba I buy. I'm still contesting it but I don't think the time I
expended and the additional time I will expend fighting them is worth it.
