Is the Vista File System NTFS the same as XP / win2000? - If I hook up an
IDE with Vista (all flavours) to a Windows XP machine will the XP machine
read the drive and its files OK? - I haven't done it personally myself yet
but was just wondering if it does?

I am figuring the answer to my question is yes that the XP machine will read
the Vista hard drive and files. Would the working Vista folder be c:\windows
or c:\winnt ?

Cheers,

Andy.

Window Vista on my machine the C drive in NTFS. However, it really doesn't
make any difference. For some years my other machine with XP had one hard
drive FAT 32 and the other NTFS. Yesterday I was doing some needed
maintenance on a Club member's machine. Windows XP with one partition NTFS
and a second partition FAT32. USB Flash memory drives are FAT. This is
primarily so that they can be portable to other machines.
