Vista can't long on windows server

Hello i configure my vista (group and ip) i loggon perfect in other computer
of lan, but on windows 2000 server, don't enter, say that user name or
password are wrong (don't true), please how do enter in my server ???

you are trying to enter your server with remote desktop or just
access the files on the LAN?

please explain
