Vista Business too heavy?

Bill

I am considering running Vista Business on my 3.4 Pentium overclocked to 3.7
with 256 Meg. video & 3 gig. Memory. It meets the compatability with
Microsoft except some driver updates & reinstalling Nero. Will this OS be
too heavy with this system?

Thank You,

Bill

To run Vista , you will of course need plenty of RAM and a fast CPU...
so your system should be fine there.
However the video card is also very important...
and just because it has 256 megs of video RAM does not necessarily
mean it will work well with Vista.

I'd do some research on Google to see you your specific cards runs
with Vista...or else post back here with the video card you have
and someone may have that info

If you have Nero 6, re-installing is not an option. You will need to upgrade
to Nero 7..

No, I am running a very similar system (except I am running a 3.0
overclocked to 3.4). Your system will have no problems running Vista
whatsoever. I run Vista Ultimate. Of course, depending on what video card
you have, you may have some issues running high definition video.

probably will be ok,
but
drop the over clocking during the install.

If you're in the US, why settle for Vista Business. You can get Ultimate
upgrade version at Bestbuy for $199.99, less than you can get Business
for. A clean install can be done with the upgrade version, if necessary.

As an experiment, I installed Vista Ultimate on a 2.4 GHz P4, with
1 GB RAM, and an ATI 9600XT 128 MB video card. It installed
without problem using the default Vista drivers. The only device
that required an external driver was the on-board sound card.
Vista even automatically set up the display to my LCD's native
resolution and refresh rate. I did install the latest ATI Catalyst
drivers, and also the Intellimouse drivers for the extra mouse
button functions.
