Hi,

I heard that Vista ultimate/enterprise allows you to run XP at the
same time as Vista...is this true.

I am putting Vista on a new machine but there is one app that needs to
run under XP...i dont want to have to restart the machine to use the
app under a dual boot but would like to be able to just switch to XP
and then switch back to Vista.

Is this possible with Vist ultimate/enterprise.

Thanks...

Yes, by using Virtual PC.

It is possible with any version of Vista. It's just not supported by
Microsoft on the Home versions.
Please see for more info

1. You can dual/mulit-boot operating systems. At boot time you decide which
one you want to run.

2. You can get somthing like Virtual PC 2007 and run an OS in a 'virtual
machine' on top of the one installed.

3. Both #1 & #2.

You can run the app under XP compatibity mode on Vista. That
should do the trick and be much less work than dual booting. If
the install is a problem, right click on the msi and have it run in XP
compatibilty mode. If it installs, but doesn't run, do the same thing
to the exe for it.
