vista 32 & 64 2 hard drives on 1 machine.

Hello Folks! This is my 1st post on these boards... I have a brand new
computer that has 2 x 500GB Hard Drives. I also have the 2 DVD 32 bit
(x86) & 64 bit (x64) Vista Ultimate Retail pack that has 1 validation
code. I would like to put the 64bit operating system on 1st Hard Drive
and the 32bit on the 2nd Hard Drive. Would anybody out there know if
when it comes to validating the software if the serial numbers of the
Hard Drives will affect the process since all the other components are
the same in the one box. Thanks D.

More than likely, your EULA allows only one of the two versions to be
installed at any time. The package you activate first should not have a
problem activating. If M$ has done its homework, when you try to activate
the second one, you should be blocked from doing so and be given a phone
number to call. Stay on the line after the automated sequence determines
that there is a problem, and you will be able to explain your situation and
they will probably explain why you can't activate both. Then you will be
able to choose which one to be activated. That's just my guess.

You can only use the product key for one Vista installation.
If you wish to install a second installation, then you'll need
to purchase a second product key (license).

In other words, you can install either the 32-bit or 64-bit version
of Vista using the product key, but you cannot install and activate
the other version using the same product key unless you remove
the first version.

One more thing you might find handy.
You can choose not to automatically activate, somewhere during the
installation. If you do this, you can install both systems and test them
for 30 days to help you decide which one you really want to use. If you
search the net a little, you should be able to find a way to extend that
30-day trial to 120 days.
