Visoneer 9320 problems

Userbeam Remailer

It seems Visioneer offers no support outside of their automated SARA
interface. If one's problem isn't in there, you are screwed. My problem
isn't in their knowledge base.

I have a visioneer scanner that came with my new computer. It was setup
at Dell. I used it only once when I first received the system, about 2
weeks ago. It worked fine. I tried using the scanner today and it
wouldn't work.

I uninstalled it via Add/Remove. I installed it again using the
supplied CD.

First off I got the notorious "can't find viceo.dll" nonsense. I
downloaded the dll from Visioneer.

After trying to install again, I kept being told that one dll after
another couldn't be found.

I also cannot find a Visioneer directory in Program Files. It's as if
the CD is not installing anything.

I do have a manual and followed it to the letter. Any suggestions?

Been there; done that. Didn't help. The damn program still keeps
asking for all sorts of DLLs and still doesn't create the Visioneer
directory. It does create the soft-something-or-other directory which
brings up all the menus but doesn't allow scanning. It also has other
problems that I'm not going to detail here.

Now, I would understand the above it had not been put on my machine by
Dell and had not been working in the beginning. If it had not been for
that, I'd hunt down those DLLs and jump through its hoops.

However, the question is now mute. The damn thing has been disconnected
and will soon join the junk pile.

It borders on thievery and fraud when companies like Visioneer can put
such dicey crap out on the market and then refuse to provide any human
support outside of their assinine "knowledge base."
