I'm told that my file in XP (Windows\System32
\System32.exe) has a virus and i can't get rid of it. I
tried the norton anti virus scan and it can't get rid of
it. It's telling me that the file is either write
protected, full, or being used. Please HELP me if you
can. How do I get rid of this??? Please e-mail me.
Thanks

Hi Tracey,

Does it mention what virus it is? If you have that information, you
can type the name of it in at this link and probably find the removal
instructions for it:

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/vinfodb.html

hope this helps!

NAV can't remove the file because it is resident in memory (in use). Run
NAV again in Safe Mode and you'll be able to delete bad files. To get
to Safe Mode, reboot the computer and repeatedly tap F8 as it is
starting up.
