Virus?

I have two, probably related, problems. Some, not all, programs refuse to install, or if installed, refuse to run. No message of any kind--they simply wink out after 5-10 seconds on screen. These are mostly security-oriented programs. I am also unable to reach any security site-Norton, McAffe, Grisoft, etc. All other sites work fine. Sounds like an infection, but not one that I've heard of

Yes there is virus' out there that prevent you from websites, task manager,
Add & Remove Programs and it sounds like your a victim of one or more of
them.
Download, Upgrade & Run Ad-Aware remover

Very helpful. It appears to be a Russian bug called Backdoor.Agobot.3.Gen that comes with many variations. I seem to have killed it, but not removed it. Still working on it. Thanks a lot.
