1. Right-click on your Desktop and select NEW > SHORTCUT
2. Type in: NOTEPAD.EXE , and click Next.
3. Type in a name for the shortcut, such as "NotePad"
4. Click "Finish".
5. A shortcut to your NotePad program will appear on your desktop.
If the above does not work:
EditPad Lite is an excellent Notepad replacement.
It's a lightweight text editor, but certainly not as bare
as the standard Notepad that comes with Windows.

| My virus protection detected a virus in Notepad.exe. I couldn't clean it so it ended up deleting
notepad.exe. How do I re-install it? I am running Windows XP home which came on pre-loaded on my Sony Vaio.
Can someone point me in the right directions?
