virus help

well people i have just spent the good part of the weekend
trying to rid my system of viruses,,i only installed
broadband the other day and last night i noticed that my
system was running slow,i could'nt right click on anything
or move files, my musicmatch software died,so did system
restore, when i upgraded my norton antivirus i was told
that i was infected with W32/gaobot.gen.b &
lovasan.worm.a,with four files being infected,the
antivirus software deleted 2 infected files but could,nt
delete the other 2, i have d/l the latest dats for my a/v
software,is it safe to remove the other 2 files,
(services.exe & winhlpp.exe)???i am running xp

Reboot the computer in Safe Mode, and re-scan your system. Safe Mode is
accessed by pressing the F8 key between the BIOS POST screen and XP actually
starting to load.

Then see http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/vinfodb.html and locate the
correct entry for the virus files in question, for any manual steps that
need to be taken. There are a number of variants of the Gaobot and Lovesan
virus's so make sure you get the right variant.
