I have this icon in my sys tray. I think thats what it's called anyway...
the place where the time and date are displayed in Windows XP.

The icon is apparently a advt for some software that I don't want so how do
I get rid of the thing? I have McAfee installed and it doesn't see it as a
virus.

Any help would be appreciated!

try this program i found out about today. It removes those types of things
when other programs can't even find them. It will put them in jail and in a
holding cell. If you double click on them in the holding cell it will let
them run again, and you can drag and drop things from jail into the holding
cell to let them run! It sounds complex so read the help files and user blogs
first. It found a heap of stuff on my pc today but windows said it had
removed important files and it wanted me to put my xp disk in the cd drive.
So I set all the files loose from the jail and everything was okay? So it
identifies some windows files as problems, which is bad? However it fixes
weird types of stuff like you have when nothing else can.

Good luck. Please read all about it before installing it. I have it running
with onecare/defender and spybot.
