if you computers max size is 3000 your computer only uses up to 2000 even
though it says 3000 unless you use the /3gb switch in the boot.ini file
correct? and if you use the switch you will be able to go up to 4gb in the
maxsize of virtual memory correct?

This has to do with physical RAM. You need this switch to handle very
large amounts of RAM.

AFAIK, it has nothing at all to do with the size of your pagefile.
