Hi

I keep getting a yellow triangle in my task bar saying my Windows Virtual
Memory is too low.

I have gone into System / Advanced / and it is set @ 1534 which was
recommended.

Please advise what it should be set at, or what I need to do to fix this
issue.

Thank you

Unless you have a specific reason not to my opinion is that you should set
Windows to manage the pagefile size.

Certainly ignore anyone who advises that pagefile size should be calculated
as a function of your RAM size - this is nonsense.

Ed Metcalfe.

The correct setting for virtual memory is "system managed size."

If your virtual memory is running low this means that the programs that
are running - including programs running in the background - are
demanding more memory than your computer has to give.

The solutions, therefore, are to reduce the number of running programs,
or at least those that are consuming the most memory, or buy more memory.

Keep in mind that malware can suck up all available memory.

Thanks,

I know it is not more memory required as I have just updated from 512MB to
1GB and from 80GB to 160GB.

I am free of any malaware as I have run Spybot and Ad-Aware.

So I have just changed to it Windows to manage page file size.

Thanks for all the input I appreciate the help.

Some tips:

Spybot (Search & Destroy) and AdAware are not very effective against
spyware, and they don't test for viruses at all.
