I need help with my virtual machine issues. I have
windows xp and as you can imagine it no longer contains
java virtual machine or windows virtual machine. I am for
one confused as to which one I need. I went to Java site
and downloaded one and it didnt work so then I went and
downloaded the new beta version that windows is working
on called J# but to my dismay that didnt work so well.
Can someone please send me in the proper direction to
correct this problem cuz we cannot chat on yahoo and open
some websites fully without this feature on the comp and
I am running into brick walls everytime I try to figure
it out. Thanks for any help you can provide. Angel

Hi Angel
J# is for developers moving java code to the .net platform.
Microsoft are no longer distributing their Java VM for legal reasons. But
you can still
find it at http://java-virtual-machine.net/download.html - after
installation you should visit the Windows Update site for a JVM security
update. Note that if you install the Microsoft JVM, MS will no longer issue
security updates for it after 2nd Jan 2004.
Suns's JVM which it sounds like you tried
generally has worse compatability as many pages were designed with the
Microsoft JVM in mind.
