Hi:

I need to distribute a Powerpoint presentation in a format where it can
be viewed on another (customer's) computer, however at the end of the
presentation, I want no traces of the presentation left behind on that
machine. How can I do this?

One thought was to save as HTML, install on a flash drive with portable
Firefox (or other browser software) and then plug in the flash drive
and run the presentation off the flash drive.

However, I would prefer to keep the presentation material in Powerpoint
if possible, as this will allow last minute edits.

Any thoughts?

Two choices.....

1) put your powerpoint file on a flash drive (a huge one)
and edit directly on the flash drive (be warned though)..

2) copy your pres to clients HD, edit, copy back to flash drive, delete from
clients PC.

I'm assuming from your mention of a flash drive that you'll be there in person
and will be able to control the computer.

If that's correct, you can create an AutoRun CD or you could put the
presentation and the necessary PPT Viewer files on a flash drive (getting it to
auto run is a whole different story, but it doesn't sound like that's a big
issue for you.)

Make an AutoRun CD

Thanks for the suggestions - I am going to try putting the file and
Viewer on the flash drive and see how it performs. The editing is not
a really big deal - I estimate that we will need to edit on the fly
less than 10% of the time. The key issue for us is not leaving any
trace of the presentation on the clients hard drive (this is more to
protect our IP than the clients machine). We will have control of the
computer during the presentation, so we could possibly try the copy and
delete route - but I don't want to get into the potential situation of
the client asking me to leave/not delete the file. If everything is
guaranteed to stay on the flash drive, this should not be an issue.
