Viewing PowerPoint notes during presentation.

Is it possible for a presenter to view notes on his computer screen during
presentation without the audience seeing the notes too?

Folks at work insist that they've seen presenters viewing their notes on the
computer screen during the Powerpoint presentation (but notes are hidden from
audience). They claim it was not done with dual monitors. (I asked.) Any
other suggestions? Your help/comments are appreciated.

You mean there wasn't a projector displaying the presentation on a screen?
Where was the audience looking? Remember, dual monitors could be the laptop
screen and a second monitor, or a projector and the laptop screen.

I don't know how the audience could see something different if there is only one
image being shown.

Well, yes, I'm pretty sure there was a projector. I'll go back again and
check out the article you suggested...I didn't make the connection that a
projector could be considered a dual monitor. (So am I to assume that the
answer is YES, a presenter can view powerpoint with notes while projecting
only the powerpoint show?)

Thanks for your help.

Yes. With two monitors you designate one as Primary and one as Secondary. In
PowerPoint you can specify which one the presentation will be displayed on.
