viewing pictures

On some web sites, I can't view the pictures. I just get
an outline box. In it is a smaller box with a red X.
Please, how can I fix this?

This has been a continuing problem for me too. Typically, it is the small
control images that I get just the red X. If I right click the image and
select Show Picture, it will show up. The next time I go to that page, maybe
they all show up. It seems to vary page by page and from one time to the
next. I've had this problem with MIE 6 on 98, and I've even upgraded to XP,
doing a full install, but I still have the problem.

I've that problem sometimes. When I check my firewall log (Norton Internet
Security), there are some related entries. Seems that firewall blocks
sometimes pictures, when it cannot determine which program has requested
them. Disabling firewall fixes problem, but I rather accept missing pictures
than keep it disabled.
