VIEWING PHOTOS STORED ON CD

I am using both a pc (Dell Dimension 8200) and Dell
laptop (Inspiron 1100). Both computers are using Windows
XP Home

On the pc 8200 I can insert a cd containing pictures, go
to windows explorer, click folders, get PICTURE TASKS
(on the drop down blue menu) which enables me to click
view slide show and then view the photos stored on the cd.

Repeating the above actions on the laptop I cannot get
Picture Tasks.

Can anyone out there suggest a solution.

Try running this from Start | Run | Type > regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
