my web site(not yet published) look diffrent on diffrent
pcs. is there an easy way of setting it so that the way
it was designed is the way that it is displayed.

Hi DJ B.

Most design today is done using tables to control the layout so that it will look the same across different system. This is changing
to CSS based layout however.

hi
Thanks for your response,
i havent used tables(maybe i should have!).
i have a page with a frame, with links on the left hand
side that change the content of the other frame.
my proble is, i designed the webpage on a monitor
displaying 1182 x 864, but i viewed on a diffrent
monitors, with a lower setting etc, and all the gifs
looked bigger, fonts looks bigger and the page in general
didnt look great.
is there any thing i can do, to basically allow the page
to be displayed the same for who ever views it, using
whatever monitor setting?

Regards

You need a basic book and yes, you should have used tables. Get Jim Buyens'
FP Inside/Out

There isn't anything you can do about people using
different monitor settings...the fonts and graphics will
look bigger and smaller.

If you're getting really strange stuff, you should
validate your HTML.

Validation will help show major errors.
Strict compliance isn't especially important and don't
waste your time on every little thing.
