Viewing Inbox and Tasks in the one window

Hello,

is it possible to view Tasks and my inbox in the one widow at the same time?

i don't want to have more than one window open, but i want to be able to see
inbox on the left and taks on the right, i am pretty sure that this was
possible with the 2000 release

Outlook 2007 has a To-Do Bar which makes it possible.
It is not possible in Outlook 2000 or any other version of Outlook without
opening multiple windows.

You never mentioned your version.
Assuming Outlook 2007 (as it is the only version with a To-Do Bar);
View-> To-Do Bar-> Normal
