view picture inserted in word document while creating

I am making a gardening journal and have inserted a couple of pictures from
'my pictures.' However, I would like to be able to see the picture on the
screen while inserting my information. Currently the only way I can see what
the docment ends up looking like is to go to the preview. Does anyone know
how to make this happen? Thank You. Audrey
 
Make sure you don't have "Picture placeholders" checked on the View tab of
Tools | Options.
