View/List folders/files

Win XP Pro
Problems: Folder view is set to Tile by default. Would like to set it to
List.

I have to always go to the menu and select VIEW/LIST. It's always set to
TILE. I looked inside the Tools/Folder Options and selected the View tab
but I don't know what to select to have all my folders set to View/List by
default.

Is there a way to set it to View/List for all folders?

Open any folder, set the view as desired. Then, go to Tools, select Folder
Options, go to the View tab and click "Apply to all folders."
 
Go to View/List in any folder, then Tools/Folder Options/View, Apply to all
folders.
