Clueless in Seattle
I use my local library's computers to print my word documents. I
believe they are still using Word 2003 on their computers (I should
have checked the version when I was there yesterday but didn't think
to do it, sorry).
Yesterday I was formatting a document for printing. The display was
in "normal" mode so that approximately the top third of the page was
displayed in the window, and the width of the page filled the window
from the left side to the right side, with no empty space on either
side.
But when and tried to create a header and clicked "View > Header and
Footer," the display shrank so that the full height of the page was
displayed in the window, and there were large empty grey borders on
the left and right sides.
In this mode, the box for typing in the header was so tiny that I was
unable to make out what I was typing in the box.
I couldn't figure out how to get the header to display the way it does
on my home computer, i.e., in "normal" mode, so that it was large
enough for me to be able to read what I typed.

Can someone explain to me how to correct this the next time I go to
the library?
