view by category

I am assigning contacts to a category, but when I view by category, some of the contacts are not listed under that category, while others are. I can't see any rhyme or reason to why somne of the contacts don't get listed under that category.
 
open the contacts that don't show and click the category button - do you
have one or more categories with similar names listed?
