This is a great piece of software. I've been using Videolan for awhile
& even thought I mainly use it for watching DVD's, it is still a great
piece of software.

Yes it is, but i want to stress that version 0.8.5 is no more
compatible
with old fashion Windows (98/ME), -regarding the skins2 interface.
0.8.4 is still full compatible.

That's good to know for people who have older versions of Windows. I
have Win XP so I don't have to worry about that.

I tried watching an AVI file with it - but it complained of a corruption
- Windows Media Player didn't have a problem with it, though. :( Let's
hope that this issue is resolved when it makes it to 1.0.

Mine was just the opposite experience, Mark. Go figure. Must be
difference in set up. Juzme

Great software, but lots of interface problems with the latest
version on Windows XP.

p.

Well, I'm using Videolan 0.8.5 on Win XP SP2 with all the security
fixes for XP & it doesn't have any interface problems on my comp, it
could be your system setup because one prog might work on one comp but
might have problems running on another comp.

Could well be, but I'm not alone, as the forums testify.
