Hi All,

Here are the symptoms of my problem, maybe someone can help.

I have a box running Windows XP SP2. My video card is a Raedon 9700
All In Wonder.

About 3 weeks ago there was a big power surge which killed my 3 UPS's.
Ever since then, when I boot my computer, it goes nuts with crazy
colors and crazy patterns. Sometimes it occurs immediately after boot,
sometimes it get halfway through the XP boot cycle, but I always get
that crazy stuff.

I tried a different video card from one of my other computers, an
NVIDIA MX400. It worked fine. So, I figured it was the video card. A
friend of mine has the same video card as me, so I swapped it, and, the
problem still exists........

Anyone have any suggestions? I was gonna swap out the entire
motherboard next.......

Thanks,

Arthur

Before buying anything new, I would try to uninstall the video card
including all drivers. Then reinstall the card. Remember to disconnect from
the internet after reinstalling the card prior to installing the drivers.

Problem is, that most of the time this happens BEFORE it even gets to
Windows, during the BIOS detection phase. So, it must be hardware
related..........
