video thumbnails are not all showing

In explorer when i choose thumbnail view, not all the different extensions
show the thumb.
Mpg does not show the thumb !
avi & mwv does in the same directory ( as mpg)

I work with XP 100 % up todate, they all open with media player 9,

I also got a laptop on which it works perfectly !!!

theres another app that is sharing mpg as its own file
type. its sort of a conflict problem, i had the same
thing the other day, just look throught your media
players, ALL OF THEM and check in there properties and see
what file type extensions they have, make sure mpg is not
checked off, except for media player.
