I hope i can get some help out there. I have been using Adobe PRemier
elements for some time know for all of my video editing. Currently, when i
attempt to access this program or any file within the program, the screen
freezes and the program does not respond. I have to turn my computer off
(manually) every time this happens. I am also not able to play most dvds in
my dvd drive. I am not sure if the two issues are related, but i have been
pulling my hair the last two days trying to figure this one out. PLease help!

Might check your system to insure the proper files are still there.
with System File Checker. http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html

It sounds to me like your machine is having hardware problems. Here are
general hardware troubleshooting steps:

Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts
with known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are
uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA).

I had the same problem - even had blue screens at times. I fixed all my
video problems by installing the latest video driver. I no longer have any
problems playing or editing video.

help, prior to this i exhausted all of my known option. I will try this and
