History - Video Game Crash of 1983

At its height in 1982, the video game industry employed hundreds of thousands of people and generated over two billion dollars in sales. And then, unexpectedly, it all collapsed, virtually overnight. What happened?

Thought this was an interesting read.

I didn't realise that the video gaming industry was that big in 1982 - I thought it would barely have even started by then! Interesting that it coincided with the C64 release, I would have guessed that would be the moment it grew .

Interesting! I read a book called Ready Player One recently, it was a really good read. There's a film based on it, but the book is much better. Although it's set in the future, old games feature prominently, and I found it really interesting reading about them.

I really enjoyed this movie, especially the end when Godzilla shows up
