Hi,
I guess I have some frequently asked questions here but anyhow I'll state
them.
I have an AverDVD EZmaker USB 2 that I use to capture video from analog
sources. My computer is a P4 2.66 GHz and it captures with high quality in
MPEG-2 with Ulead Movie Factory.
Now, I'd like to use the features of MM2 to produce videos for the internet
and to take advantage of the effects, voice narration etc in MM2. Basically
I therefore need an AVI file. The DV-AVI is disabled for capturing in MM2
because the source is analog. Capturing WMV with best (variable) bitrate
gave only 1/6 of the quality that capturing MPEG-2 in Ulead Movie Factory
gave. This is useless for recording on VCD or VHS. The third and remaining
option is then to transcode the MPEG-2 file to AVI. I had planned to use
Quick Time Pro with MPEG-2 component to do this, but luckily I discovered
that the sound is NOT supported for MPEG-2 in QT.
Any recommendations for MPEG-2 to AVI transcoding?
