how do i add a video clip from my Kodak Easy Share camera onto my Power Point
presentation?

Save it to your hard drive and then open the presentation in PowerPoint and use
Insert > Movies and Sounds > Movie from File. Your camera probably creates an
AVI file, which may not work in PowerPoint. Try it first and if it doesn't
work, rename the file and give it a file extension of .MPG and insert it. Let
us know if it works.

Tuits. Finally got a spare one and tried the rename to MPG trick with AVIs
from the Pentax Optio.

We have a winner. But I expect you knew that.

TAJ discovered it. I just spread the word. It seems that a number of camera
companies, but not all, think all AVI's are equal. 'Tain't so. Their AVI's are
really MPG's.

Hi,

And Sonia told me about it the very day before a big project using avi's I
couldn't get to run. Worked like a charm. Although, I suspect no-one in the
audience knew the drama's I went through to get them to play, which was, I
guess the whole point <g>.

So far it's batting 100% for all the cases I've run into where videos that
insert okay don't play and instead the user sees only a white box.

Count your self as one of the lucky ones. <g>
So, far anyone we've suggested the tip to, in this newsgroup, who reports
back, says it works for them too.

And FWIW, in this case the videos didn't insert at all as AVIs. PowerPoint
would follow me through the point where I selected the file and clicked OK.
After that, it blew me off. Chopped liver, that's me. Like I wasn't there and
hadn't ever been.

No preview image on screen, no white thingie, just ... nada.
