Video card suggestions?

I plan to get a new video card and wonder if anybody knows of a better
choice than the one I'm thinking of: Matrox P650.

First, I've completely outgrown video games and mainly use a computer
for usual things plus rather extensive editing of movies and graphics
(digital pics, etc).

I currently have a Matrox G450 in my main system and have been
generally happy with it. Since I need a video card for another system
and want to fill in from the top, I'm thinking of getting a Matrox
P650 for my main system so I can move the G450 to my secondary and the
G400 that's in it to the computer that needs a video card.

Can I do better than the Matrox P650 for no more than about $150 US
that it costs? I'm looking for excellent graphics and text, but 3D is
relatively unimportant.

The short answer is no. You don't have any tasks that require a better
card. I had a Matrox card several years ago and the display was noticeably
better than any other card I had at the time, but graphics cards have
improved considerably since then. You are apparently very happy with
Matrox cards, are a loyal Matrox customer and if you don't mind the $150
then I don't believe there is a better card for your purpose.

Thanx, Mac. That's what I thought, but just wanted to check if I
might be overlooking something. The ZZF price does seem to be the
best.
