video card question

Radeon 9550se / 128MB DDR / AGP 8X / VGA / DVI / TV Out / Video Card

Given this ATI video card - it's a "new" card.

Let's say I have an "old" slot 1 PIII AGP 2x motherboard - works fine for my
purposes but I want to max-out on the video card quality.

If I put this card in would it work? I'm thinking it would, it just would
work within the constraints of my motherboard's capabilities(?)

Any possible issues before I buy it - it's under $50....

Thanks

You've got a voltage problem. It won't work. It might damage the video
card. On the other hand, I doubt that the AGP slot in question would even
accept that card, physically, as it should be keyed NOT to. -Dave

I wouldn't bother. I have this card and it was horrible on a 533fsb and p4.
I upgraded to 800fsb cpu and it is incredible improvement. As it turns out,
the DAC was faster than some of the same model (400 and 250 mhz).the vid
card ram showed up at 196mhz, extremely important to have system neraby for
cache at similar speed with ddr . I almost chucked it when i was on a 533
bus. That "little" 9550 model needed a big machine with ddr system.
