Video card problem

I wanted to upgrade the video card in my nieces computer. As it is the first
generation Abit BH2 I was a little leery of running a newer AGP video card
so I bought a PCI model specifically the ATI 9250. So it won't boot with it
installed. Tried in another comp and it booted just fine. AGP I know has
various versions and voltages so that was why I did not go that direction.
PCI slots have different versions as well but it WAS.. my understanding that
if it fit (IE not the long version) it was good to go. Anyone know of a link
to give me enough information to figure this out. I had a 3dfx banshee in it
and as direct X has some issues as well as some games, I thought a new video
card was the way to go. Any and all help would be appreciated. Have to keep
my favorite uncle status ya know. :)

By the way the video card has been returned. Now I am waiting for an answer
on this dilemma before I purchase another.

According to the board image
<http://www.abit-usa.com/images/products/bh6-large.jpg>, the AGP
socket has a 3.3v key. A graphics card with a universal AGP connector
<http://www.ertyu.org/~steven_nikkel/agpcompatibility.html> that has
both 3.3v and 1.5v slots will work. An example of such a card is the
SAPPHIRE 100583-GN-H Radeon 9250 128MB 64-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card

See

for other cards.

Will not post. I did reset the bios using the jumper. I have tried all the
PCI slots. I was initially thinking an IRQ conflict. No joy on any of them.
I can hear the computer start up but no video signal.
