Video Capture from Sony Mini DV now corrupted

Bought a new DELL running XP SP2. Sonic RecordNow 7.1 wasn't working
MM2.1 was working fine capturing video, then I installed some updates to
Sonic Record Now 7.1 and to the associated MyDVD 5.0 to fix...no help. Then
went to windows update and downloaded Windows Miedia PLayer 10, .Net critical
update and the GDI update.

Now MM2.1 won't capture video properly...highly pixelated. Won't playbacak
at all. Changing to different capture formats doesnt help.

Rebooted several times. Uninstalled all Sonic products. Not fixed. Wonder if
its anything to do with Mediaplayer 10?

You could try turning off some of the filters in the new compatibility tab.

I saw that feature! Unchecked all filters, but the feed was still corrupted.

Again, I wonder if the install of MediaPlayer 10 had anything to do with
messing up the firewire capture?

Does the capture using WinDV exhibit the same behaviour?
