VERY upset with VS backordered

I have been waiting almost a month for my Visual Studio 2005 Professional to
be shipped. After calling Microsoft, I was informed that they have not
shipped any orders yet for the Professional version (in the US), even if you
ordered on or before November 7 (supposed launch date). That's 1 month and 1
week delay and there still no define date when they will start shipping
theses orders.

Has anyone been able to purchase and received VS 2005 Professional in the
USA (other than via MSDN)? Where? Just curious.

I got notice yesterday that Amazon is shipping mine, it should be here
tomorrow according to the tracking number.. I ordered mine on maybe Nov 9th?
It is pretty ridiculous that they were this unprepared.

If you can get a hold of an MSDN subscription this by far is the way to
go if you need to keep your library up to date on the latest MS
technology. I know it is pricey but well worth the money considering
the value and expediency you get from it.

I just placed my order on Amazon. By the way, do you know if the product is
identical as if you buy it directly form Microsoft? I think I remember
reading about how if you bought it from Microsoft you had 2 free tech
support incidents otherwise you don't.

Is there any truth to this?
