Very Slow performance

Hi All:
I have sony PCGNV190 6 mths old with xp home edition.
Do not have any memory intensive applications but still
the machine is slow.
My old pentium 2 desk top waas better than this pentium 4.
Any suggestions ?

Go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs Look for Hotfix 811493 and
remove it.
