Rob

hi all,
I have a dell inspiron 1100 laptop with a 20 gb harddrive
and i think either a 128 or 256 RAM. I have a password
set up so that wen i start up the computer, it asks for
password at welcome screen. After i enter it and
click "sign on" or what- have- you, it takes a very long
time to load up my desktop.

The only apps which load in the tray are my anti-virus
(mcafee), network connections, sound. My background is a
picture of beautiful yankee stadium on a day when the
yankees are presumably winning ;-) With that information
can anyone help as to why it is taking so long to load my
desktop?

thanks in advance,
Rob

can i really update my memory with a laptop? i know that
you can take apart PCs but can you do th esame with
laptops? if so, please elaborate on how i would do that.

Thanks

Hi Rob, this is mike. If you have an internet connection you could have alot
of spyware on your computer. To fix this, go to yahoo and type in spy
sweeper. Download the program, scan your computer and remove the spyware.
This may fix the problem. If not, check to see if your hard drive is almost
full. If it is then remove programs that you dont need or upgrade your
labtop to a bigger hard drive capacity. Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs is
the best way to uninstall programs that you dont use. Best of luck to you
and I hope everything works out.
