I want to make some flyers and I want the people to be able to tear off the
phone number .
I need to know how and whwere do I find information on writing the numbers
vertically.

Consider using WordArt, there are vertical text options there. You can find
it in the drawing toolbar, just about in the middle.

The usual way is to create a table at the bottom of the page, one cell for
each tearoff, and rotate the text in the cells. There are templates for such
fliers available at http://office.microsoft.com/templates/default.aspx?

Note also that if you center the cell contents both vertically and
horizontally, you'll get the appearance you want.
