Is it possible to change the default vertical text
alignment from "top" to "center" or "bottom", as can be
done with Excel?

Thanks,

There is no exposed property for Vertical Alignment. A workaround is
here:

VerticalJustificationA2K.zip is a database containing a function to
allow for vertical centering of the contents of a Label or TextBox
control. Works with both Forms and Reports.
