Versions with files on diskettes

Nancy

I am saving versions in a word xp file on diskette (Using
File - versions) but they do not show up. It appears I
have to work on the hard disk then copy to diskette. Am I
wrong??

1) You are right. You cannot successfully use Word with files on diskette.
Don't save files on a diskette using Word; don't open them; don't print
them. From Windows you can copy files back and forth.

2) Versions is a dangerous option. If left on long enough it will probably
corrupt your file. It will certainly bloat it. All of the versions are saved
in the same file, not as separate files. Separate files is preferable and
what I use, but there is no automatic feature for doing this.
